Fighting White Supremacy on Campus

As you may have heard, there have been self-proclaimed nazi and white supremacist groups flyering and hanging banners on campus, as well as rallying in the Salt Lake Valley. These groups were specifically targeting immigrants, claiming that they are causing harm to the environment. We know this to be untrue and that this is just another poor excuse for racism. SDS stands with immigrants and undocumented people and we believe that they should have be safe on the Univerisity of Utah's campus. We also believe that students participating in this white supremacist behavoir (flyering, rallying, and dropping banners) do not have a place on our campus. They pose a threat of safety to other students.

Until the university promises to punish active white supremacist students from the university, we will continue to rally for immigrant and undocumented students on campus, and demand that the university also take steps to disentagle itself with anti-immigrant institutions such as the Department of Homeland Security and Hewlett-Packard.
